dreaded allergies

I am ready to move from this pollen infested wonderland called Oregon.

It's beautiful, yes, but the pollen count is insane.

A common sight.

I have been a mess since April, battling a couple of colds and endless post-nasal drip.  I'm hopped up on Flonase and Allegra, and I am still lacking full energy to train and do what needs to be done to get ready for my upcoming races.

I am growing weary of it.

If anyone has any good suggestions about how to control allergies, please send them along.  I really want to get to some good training in.

But hey, I'm less than two weeks from my double marathon weekend - that will be good training, right?

  1. Allergies suck! I have no good advice for you though, sorry! Goodluck on your big upcoming race.

  2. Sounds like you're doing about the same thing as me. I take Allegra and Nasonex. I have seasonal allergies plus pet allergies (we have 2 dogs and a cat). So I take the stuff year-round. Hope you get to feeling better soon!

  4. Jose - Gracias por tus comentarios. Español o Ingles es bueno - no prefiero una o la otra.

I am running longer and longer; one day I hope to run a 100 miler, but I have a lot of training to do first.

  5. You are a trooper for doing a double marathon while dealing with allergies!! What they say about local honey helping your body to fight them off is true. It doesn't take mine away completely, but the severity goes way down. I normally take a tablespoon in my tea before I go to bed and a tablespoon on toast in the morning. I hope it helps!!
