That, my friends, may be my favorite movie line ever.
It's from the classic 80s pic, Dirty Dancing, and while it may have been eclipsed by the equally great, "No one puts Baby in a corner", it still, to this day, brings me back to my awkward teenage years when I had no idea what to say to any member of the opposite sex. You have no idea how many times I uttered that phrase under my breath. But that's for a different blog post. ONE THAT WILL NEVER BE WRITTEN. I digress.
I bring it up now as I feel a bit like Frances trying to act all cool and collected towards Johnny as I offer my first video attempt to you. I really don't know what to say.
Vimeo and YouTube are full of amazing trail running videos. This is not one of them. It is a chronicle of the training run/hike I went on with my great running buddy Julie up in the Cascades near Mt Jefferson. We had a fantastic day that included creek jumping, wrong way turns, crashing feet first into rocks as we slid across snow fields and gasps of delight inspired by jaw-dropping views. It was a perfect day on the trail.
It was also a day of very amateur film making. I realize that I made every mistake in the book. You may get dizzy. You may even feel like losing your lunch. But I hope too that you are inspired to crack open a map and do a little trail dreaming.
Enjoy!
*Now that I think about it, I think I may still be in that awkward teenage phase. Oh well.
