back to the grind

I ran ten miles today.

Ouch.

It has become apparent that the combination of rest and recovery from my big races, two weeks off from cruddy lungs, and a week in Mexico acting like a lizard has left me pretty much out of shape.

How did that happen.

But happen it did, and so now I will hop back on the horse and hit the training again.  That's really all you can do, isn't it?  Life happens. An injury pops up.  We get sick.  Crises happen at work.  When we get to the other side, we can beat ourselves up all we want, but it isn't going to change a darn thing.  All you can really do is strap on your shoes, start out with a slow pace or a short run, and build back up again.

Run where you are. And that's enough.
