Speed Signs

I am a big fan of The Office. For runners, the Fun Run episode is classic.  But last week's episode featured something close to my heart - racing the speed sign (it's in the opening scene). There's something about the challenge of those giant numbers staring me down that I can't resist.  I have to pick up the pace and see how high I can get.  The best sign for me is on Boones Ferry Rd, heading down the hill.  Traffic is usually light, and the incline is perfect for going fast.  I haven't done an all-out sprint yet, but it's coming.  So yeah, that probably makes me a dork.  Oh well.

  2. I haven't done the Hagg Lake run before, but here's what a friend of mine had to say about it:

"This can be a whole lot of fun, if you like getting muddy & cold...then warmed up... have volunteered for this race a couple of years and finally ran it last year - when the weather was dry, sunny and almost warm...it was glorious!

But, typically, it is muddy, wet and cold. So, at the finish area, we always have hot soup ready to revive the runners. Since the mud is clay, the trail can be very slick and it will cake up on your shoes...Great Fun!"

I'm pretty much thinking I will end up losing my shoes in the mud and be running barefoot through the brambles. Should be awesome :) But I have heard that a lot of people love this race.
