Have you ever noticed that a letdown period always seems to occur after you complete a big challenge?
Some call it the post race blues. And I'm smack-dab in the middle of it right now.
I've been so focused on the past two weeks that I have given little thought to what comes next.
Perhaps it is because the recovery on Pac Rim has been fairly easy that I am already itching to move on to the next thing. Only trouble is, I'm not sure what that should be.
I've got my pacing adventure in April, and I intend to run the Three Sisters Marathon in the beginning of June. But do I run that easy or work on speed between now and then? I honestly don't know.
I'm letting the possibilities stew for a bit. I'm eating everything in sight. And I'm hoping that when I come through the other side of the funk I will be raring to go as ever.
I always have some long term goals to avoid this. I always know what's next. In the mean time enjoy the moment of not having a specific goal.
ReplyDeleteI go through similar mental funks after reaching a goal or getting through an event. I think it's important to have non structured time for a while & determine what others goals you want to accomplish. Good job!
ReplyDeleteI always have this problem. I found a week or two of unstructured running and a new target race usually does the trick
