After the craptastic non-run of the day before, I turned to my favorite cure.
Trails.

| Our trails are very muddy - but not frozen at all. |

| This tree was not over the trail the last time I ran here. |
This gem of a park is about 15 minutes from my house, and 2 minutes from where I grew up. It's one of my happy places, and it never fails to do the trick.
Do you have a place that can pick you up from the running doldrums? What is it like?
The trails do that for me every time. So mad it's snowed like a foot of snow and I can't get out there. I never want to road run anymore I'm burnt out on it and it's just not as calming!

Any trail that looked like that would make me feel better - gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteHa, that is medicine for sure! I have this one trail where i always see zebras and giraffes (I'm in Africa) so that is my happy running place.
ReplyDeleteZebras & giraffes - that would be a huge way to boost my mood. What a treat to run with.
ReplyDeleteI'm jealous! My happy running place is also a trail, ~4 miles, hilly, and almost always deserted. Unfortunately it's in Delaware. When I went to school there it was about a two mile run from where I lived. There's some around Baltimore, anytime I have the chance I try to get on them instead of roads or treadmill. Always worth it
